Geschichte der Musik: erzählt von Arnold Werner-Jensen [Gebundene Ausgabe]

Who ‚invented‘ the Gregorian chorale? How did the opera come into being? Who is regarded as the ‚first romanticist‘? What is meant by ‚experimental music‘? All these questions and many others too are answered by Arnold Werner-Jensen in his music history book for children and young people in a concise and comprehensible way. This volume invites the reader to take an exciting and very readable walk through the history of Occidental music – from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. The accompanying CD contains music examples of all epochs and musical genres. Arnold Werner-Jensen, born in Innsbruck in 1941, studied school music and German language and literature in Frankfurt on the Main. He trained as a conductor, then grammar school teacher and music critic and was appointed professor of music and music didactics in Heidelberg and Weingarten. He works as a pianist and harpsichordist with concert performances and radio recordings. Numerous musico-educational and musicological publications.
